Chinese mini PC maker FEVM has a habit of cramming high-performance hardware into compact designs. Last year the company introduced a Mac Studio clone with up to an Intel Core i9-14900KF processor and NVIDIA RTX 4090M graphics. And now FEVM is preparing to launch a mini PC with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Strix Halo processor.
The FEVM FA-EX9 will join a small but growing number of small desktop computers to feature this 16-core, 32-thread mobile chip with discrete-class integrated graphics, an NPU with up to 50 TOPS of AI performance, and support for up to 128GB of RAM (three quarters of which can be used by the GPU).
FEVM hasn’t announced pricing or availability yet, but in a Chinese social media post, the company has provided some pictures of the upcoming mini PC as well as some specifications.
The computer measures 192 x 190 x 55mm (7.56″ x 7.48″ x 2.17″) and has an internal volume of about 2 liters. It has a set of ports that includes:
- 1 x OCuLink (64 Gbps external PCIe connector)
- 2 x USB4 (40 Gbps)
- 5 x USB 3.x Type-A
- 1 x HDMI 2.1
- 1 x DisplayPort 2.1
- 2 x 3.5mm audio
- 1 x RJ45 LAN
- 1 x SD card reader
- 1 x DC power input
The FA-EX9 comes with a 240W GaN power supply. More details should be available closer to launch.
Other Strix Halo-powered mini PCs coming soon include the GMK Evo-X2, PELADON YO1, and Framework Desktop.
